随着吸烟与健康问题的提出,对烤烟质量提出了新的要求。质量好的烤烟,叶片大、身份厚、内质充实、香气充足、尼古丁含量高、劲头大、吃味浓、颜色桔黄。目前我国生产的烤烟,普遍存在着颜色浅淡、叶小片薄、香气量不足,尼古丁含量低、吃味平淡、劲头不足等问题。为了探索生产优质烤烟的技术,为我国烤烟打入国际市场,创收更多的外汇,一九八五年中国烟草总公司同美国奥斯汀烟草公司签订合同,在我省禹县严楼村安排了“实行规范栽培,夺取烤烟优质适产”的试验研究。
