At the beginning of the 20th century, Western philosophy developed its own language shift. Many philosophers, at different depths, realized that the substantive and conceptual studies should be distinguished from each other. In the process of language conversion, many philosophers understand the concept investigation as: the so-called philosophical problem is actually a semantic issue. In this way, many or all of the philosophical problems can be solved by searching the dictionary or, at best, asking us to compile a more complete dictionary. Chalmers quoted William James as an example. This paper further points out through analysis, Chalmers himself is still in this direction to deal with the word dispute and the essence of the dispute. This article argues that we should interpret the concept investigation as the general truth embodied by reflection, investigation and extension.
