Gene amplification is common in tumor cells. The increase in the copy number of oncogenes is one of the important mechanisms leading to the activation of oncogenes. Double microsomes are the major cytogenetic markers of gene amplification and the major carriers of extrachromosomal gene amplification. Studies have shown that double microsomes are closely related to genome instability, tumors, and drug resistance. The in-depth study of double microbodies has important implications for the development and clinical application of tumor genetics. This article reviews the research progress of the relationship between double-microbody and digestive system tumors, and aims to provide new ideas for the prevention and treatment of digestive system tumors in the future.
