This paper Presents several new techniques and processes to treat slimes existingin Chinese tuugsten and tin plants.Even though some other techniques have beenadded to the slime processing,gravity separation has still been an essential method inmost of the plants.For tungsten,centrifugal separator.high-intensity wet magneticseparator and flotation using phosphonie acid or arsonie acid as a collector are effe-ctive approaches for treating slimes.Also,the process combined above techniques hasbeen used in some plants to recovery more refractory ones.For tin slime,the gravityseparation technology using centrifugal separator as a roughing separator and travelling beltvanner or slime table as cleaning separator has a dominant position in several tinmines.Recent years flotation technology using mixed tolyl arsonie acid as a collectorhas been used for the complex ores,especially for the ores with calcite as the maingangue mineral.In addition to the slime treatment,the combined technology of high-intensity magnetic separation and flotation with mixed tolyl arsonic acid as a colle-ctor has been applied to the recovery of zircon,bismuth ere from middling or roughconcentrates.
