By 1990 West Germany will become the largest molybdenum needs in Western Europe. Its most needed amount of up to 16,500 tons. Capitalist countries, the total demand for molybdenum up to 143,000 tons. More than 80% of alloying agents are used for the production of steel - 78% are for advanced alloy steels and 3% are for iron, steel and malleable castings. Eighty-eight percent of the world’s molybdenum deposits have a capital stock of 8,800,000 tonnes (metal content), 80% of which are concentrated in the United States. If mining increases 4% annually in the future, then these reserves are at least 56 years old.
