With the increasing development of our country’s scientific career, it has become more and more important to set up a chemistry history course in the chemistry department of normal universities. This is mainly because many students, after entering the Chemical Gate, often regard what they have learned as “ultimate truth” and memorize it by rote, and are not good at collating and comparing the vast knowledge of chemistry. Find out what is regular. After they are put on the job, they cannot use this knowledge flexibly. For this reason, since 1980, we have set up 30 selective chemical history courses for students in the fourth year of chemistry. In this limited teaching period, the “History of a Brief History of Chemistry” system is used as an outline, or several chapters are given in detail or slightly. After two years of teaching practice, the author intends to discuss some of his own views on the role of teaching history and teaching principles.
