In order to meet the needs of the development of rare earth mines, we summarize the relevant experience [1,2], based on the proposed method of determination of the total amount of rare earth ions. This method uses chemical reagent leaching ore to prepare the mother liquor, and take a certain amount of triethanolamine in the presence of sodium hydroxide precipitation of rare earth, so that with iron, aluminum, silicon and other separation. Then, the residual trace amount of aluminum, iron, manganese, uranium, thorium and the like were masked with sulfosalicylic acid at pH 5.0-5.5, and titrated with EDTA standard solution using xylenol orange as an indicator. This method has been applied to the intermediate control analysis and rare earth geology in the production process of rare earth mines
