This article is a record and analysis of the village endings in China’s developed areas. Through a survey of “village in the city” in Guangzhou City, the author finds that the difficult end of the village is not only the improvement of life but also the issue of non-agriculturalization and industrialization. It is not even a matter of changing the household registration system of urban-rural segregation, but rather that it eventually comes with the redefinition of property rights and the reorganization of social networks. The author attempts to construct the final ring of village urbanization through establishing a village termination type with universal explanatory power in order to be able to theoretically copy the entire process of non-agriculturalization, industrialization and urbanization in China after the reform and opening up.
