On May 30, “Zhongwei I” communications satellite was launched by “Long March III B” launch vehicle at Xichang Satellite Launch Center and smoothly delivered to the scheduled orbit. “Zhongwei One” is manufactured by the U.S. Lockheed Martin Corporation and operated by China Eastern Communications Satellite Co., Ltd. The satellite is equipped with 36 C-band and 24 Cu-band transponders at 36 MHz and is designed for on-orbit life of 15 years. “Zhongwei One” will be for China and Asia
