The Center for Geomechanics at Laurentiin University in Sudbury, Canada, has undertaken a five-year research project that is applicable to support design for rock burst control. The rockburst failure mechanism in Canadian hard rock mines is reviewed, and the design method of support is proposed. Each component of the support system implements the features of reinforcement, support and maintenance. Describes the expected load-displacement characteristics of the components in the antiknocking support system. But also proposed a suitable support system suitable for a series of rockburst conditions from mild to severe. The support system can be designed to: (a) Prevent rockside caving or rock burst from triggering; (b) Deformation to accommodate large forcibly deformation due to rockburst; and (c) Absorption of kinetic energy contained in the ejected rock mass.
