The puzzling atom is like a kaleidoscope, with many variations. One of the changes is called beta decay, which means that after the beta particles are automatically ejected from the nucleus of certain radioactive elements, they transform into the nucleus of other elements. The beta particles are also electrons or positrons (positively charged electrons). There are mainly protons and neutrons in the atomic nucleus. There are no electrons and positrons. So how do beta particles come out? In the beginning, neutrons can be transformed into positively charged protons and emit electrons. Protons can be transformed into uncharged neutrons and emit positrons. This automatic conversion is called decay. The decay formula is written as follows: Neutron → Proton + Electron
