Objective To investigate contraceptive efficacy and safety differences between oral contraceptives and intrauterine devices. Methods The women who introduced oral contraceptives or IUDs in our hospital were collected and divided into study group (oral contraceptive contraceptives) and control group (contraceptives with IUD). Contrast (1) adverse reactions during use of both groups. (2) One year contraceptive failure rate and unplanned pregnancy discontinuation rate in both groups. (3) two groups of adverse reactions occurred. Results (1) Adverse reactions (such as early pregnancy reaction, vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, menstrual abnormalities) in the two groups were statistically different (P <0.05). (2) There was a significant difference between the two groups in the rate of contraception failure and the rate of unplanned pregnancy in one year (P <0.05). (3) The incidence of adverse reactions in study group and control group were 8% and 18%, respectively, with statistical significance (P <0.05). Conclusion Compared with the IUD insertion, contraceptives for oral contraceptives positive effect, the incidence of adverse reactions is low.
