2006年8月15日中午,加拿大海军“里贾纳”号护卫舰在加拿大太平洋舰队司令唐纳森准将的率领下,驶抵上海海军扬子江码头,开始对上海为期6天的友好访问。海军上海基地副司令员沈长康大校在码头主持仪式,欢迎加舰的到访。加舰抵达后,唐纳森准将等主要军官拜会了海军上海基地司令员王德定少将和上海市有关领导。访问期间,加舰官兵参观了我国自行研制的导弹护卫舰、东方明珠电视塔、上海城市规划展示馆等主要景点,中加海军官兵还举行足球友谊赛和拔河赛。“里贾纳”号护卫舰舷号FFH334,1994年9月30日服役。该舰舰长134．1米,舰宽16．4米,航速29节,标准排水量4750吨。舰首装备有1门57毫米博福斯式高射炮,舰中部装备有2座四联装“鱼叉-IC型”舰对舰导弹发射架,2座八联装“海麻雀MK48型”舰对空导弹垂直发射架,4个雷达干扰物／红外线假目标干扰器发射管,舰尾装备有法蓝克斯近距离防卫系统、1座密集阵20毫米6管舰炮等,可搭载1架CH-124型海王直升机。
