无论在古代还是当今,人们在具体的语言环境中,运用雅俗二字衡量文化现象、评价文艺作品以及臧否人物等,所表达的意思是很清楚的,如“风雅之士”、“雅趣”或“俗儒”、“俗念”等词语,如说某个作品写得“很雅”或“很俗气”、“落俗套”等。但理论界在近一个世纪时间里,在雅俗之分上却明显地处在一种混乱的状态之中。这种状态严重影响着人们对雅与俗的理性认识以及对事物进行正确的雅俗评价。追究起来,这种混乱的根源产生在本世纪初。发
