明清时代,朝鲜与中国是一种特殊的附属国与宗主国的关系。清人所修《明史》认为;“朝鲜在明,虽称属国,而无异域内。故朝贡络绎,锡赉便蕃。”这也应是清朝的情形。象在国内挑选女子入宫一样,明清两朝都曾在朝鲜挑选女子。明朝在洪武、永乐、宣德、正德时代,以永乐,宣德朝为甚,清朝主要在入关前皇太极时期和入关后多尔衮时期。中国官方文献和宫中档案对此直接记载绝少;外朝官员对此知之不多,而且有意回避,所以至今未发现相关私家记录。朝鲜《李朝实录》及此 In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, North Korea and China were a special kind of dependency and sovereign relations.
