青岛港20万吨级矿石泊位自1998年建成投产以来,其吞吐量一直保持着良好的增长势头。近几年来青岛港铁矿石等的接卸数量一直居世界各大港口之首,而青岛港超大型矿船一直存在压船压港现象,因此临时过驳锚地的设置使用在一定程度上可以加快船舶和货物周转,暂时缓解压船压港现象,提高泊位利用率,成为保障港口稳定发展的一个重要因素。
