Rebel was once the soul of rock and roll, as seen in the 1960s when American rock and roll was born. However, when rock music came to China in the 1980s, it was mainly accepted as a form of music by many young music lovers. Due to lack of understanding, China’s rock music always exists in the public imagination, and accept the fate of being talked about, criticized and even abusive. This article attempts to understand the rebellious characteristics of Chinese rock from the changes that rock music imported into China and its current living conditions, and to interpret some people’s understanding of Chinese rock music.
