鸟居龙藏(Torii Ryuzo,1870~1953年)是最早在中国境内开展考古活动的日本学者。中日甲午战争后的1895年,鸟居即进入辽东半岛进行广泛的考古调查,并撰写出研究报告。此后半个世纪间,鸟居多次在中国东北及其周边地区进行考古调查,除发现大量史前时代遗迹遗物~([1])外,主要收获还涵盖汉魏晋墓葬、辽金元墓葬与城址等诸多方面。1939年以后,鸟居还曾受聘于燕京大学,从事辽文化的考古学研究。鸟居龙藏作为著名人类学家,其在中国西南地区~([2])和台湾~([3])的人类学调查研究亦有较多成果问世。
Torii Ryuzo (1870 ~ 1953) was the first Japanese scholar who conducted archeological activities in China. In 1895 after the Sino-Japanese War of 1894, Torii immediately entered the Liaodong Peninsula for extensive archaeological investigation and wrote a research report. For the next half century, Torii conducted archeological surveys on many occasions in northeastern China and its surrounding areas. Except for a large number of relics found in prehistoric relics [1], the main harvests also covered the burials of the Han, Wei and Jin dynasties, the tombs of the Liao, Jin and Yuan dynasties And many other aspects. After 1939, Torii was also employed at Yenching University, engaged in Liao culture archeology. As a famous anthropologist, Torii Ryuzo has also come out with more achievements in anthropological investigation in southwestern China ~ ([2]) and Taiwan ~ ([3]).
