Objective To investigate the relationship between ACE gene polymorphism and the efficacy of captopril in patients with essential hypertension. Methods 133 patients with essential hypertension according to ACE gene polymorphism II, ID and DD type three, taking captopril 25mgbid, taking medication before and after ambulatory blood pressure monitoring to observe in a variety of different ACE gene Differences between the states. Results The systolic blood pressure, daytime systolic pressure and nocturnal systolic blood pressure were significantly decreased in ID patients than in other patients (P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The role of ACE inhibitors may be related to ACE genotypes
