This paper presents new data on the structure of the joint belt between the Shathai shelf and the South China Sea deep basin. The marginal dike, which surrounds the shelf from the eastern margin, is a series of tectonic-magmatic seams that separate the relatively stable riparian floor from the active faults that make up the South China Sea basin. Found in the seam with modern volcanic activity, there are hydrogen, methane and carbon dioxide anomalies. Based on these facts, it can be concluded that the modern activity of the edge seams is still related to the evolution of the South China Sea basin. This conformation is speculated to be part of a north-south linear structure across regions.
