The content of estrogen receptor (ER) and nuclear DNA in 45 cases of breast cancer were measured. Results: 27 cases were negative for ER, the average DNA content was 45.11; 18 cases were ER positive, DNA content was 29.76. The ER positive rates of histological grade I, II and III were 9/15, 5/14 and 4/16, respectively; the average DNA content was 25.21, 35.64 and 46.33, respectively. According to the clinical stage I, II, and III stages, the positive rates of ER were 10/12, 8/17, and 8/16, respectively; the average DNA contents were 35.42, 36, 07, and 37.19, respectively. There was no significant difference between the ER positive rate and DNA content in different histological types. 5. Tip: The degree of histological differentiation of breast cancer is significantly related to DNA content and ER status. Combined DNA content and ER determination can more accurately understand the biological characteristics of breast cancer and provide a more reliable basis for judging the prognosis and designing individualized adjuvant treatment programs.
