三菱秋田炼锌厂1963年创建了银浮选工艺,所得银精矿曾送在直岛炼铜厂用火法处理。1973年,秋田炼锌厂也曾建立过从银精矿中回收金属银的湿法冶金工艺,并运转达五年之久。不过以后银精矿却供给细仓炼铅厂用火法提取银并利用其中的铁作熔剂。在此期间,为了提高银的回收率,银浮选过程本身一直在逐步改进,并将改进得最好的浮选法用于现在的生产,并且,还将用这种方法处理早先堆存的最终浸出渣以回收其残留的那部分银。
