Marshall’s quarrel with MacArthur MacArthur and his fellow Democrats and the Truman administration was getting worse, leaving Marshall to testify at a joint meeting of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Military Commission to justify Truman’s removal of MacArthur. In his testimony, he said that MacArthur’s clamor for a war expanded countries such as Britain and France in a state of unease. He said that MacArthur can not understand the idea of those slave countries and the importance of “cooperation” with the United States in those countries. He said Washington’s policy is to prevent the expansion of the Korean War For the Third World War, and MacArthur will expand the war. Marshall’s words are very insidious. They contain the following intentions: First, to push MacArthur to expand the war, to personally challenge the American people’s dissatisfaction with the aggressive policy; Second, the U.S. government’s policy of aggression should be decorated into a policy of “preventing the expansion of war” in order to deceive the people of the United States and other countries. Third, the reason for MacArthur’s departure should be attributed to the dissatisfaction of servant countries such as Britain and France and the transfer of Republican votes to the Truman administration Fourthly, to “respect” the opinions of servant countries, saying that it was only for them that MacArthur was?
