The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between positive and negative emotions and the choice of spatial indicators. The experimental simulated situation-induced subjects use spatial indicators to refer to two equidistant objects that may trigger positive and negative affective controls. The results show that affective tendencies do affect the choice of spatial indicators. The subjects tended to use the near-pointing finger when referring to the referring object that is not emotionally positive. “When this means pointing to the negative emotion, the subjects are strongly inclined to use the” ". The experimental results support the concept of psychological space construction, but do not support the concept of spatial distance. The author points out that the choice of the near and far indicator depends on the subjective construction of the target in the speaker’s mind.
