多细胞生物的个体发育个体发育在多细胞,尤其是高等动植物方面,与单细胞的生物有很大的不同,因为这里发育本身就是一个相当复杂的过程。专门研究这个过程的科学叫作胚胎学。实际从遗传学的观点来看个体发育并不以由胚胎发育到成体为终结,因为有许多性格到了生物的老年才能发展出来。所以在这方面要使胚胎学与遗传学结合更好,就必须把生物的生老病死以及繁殖现象包括进去作为个体发育的基本内容。这一点在生活史较短的生物中是容易的,但在高等动物则比较困难;这也说明因为什么在高等动物中关于这上面的资料是特别缺乏的。
Individual development of multicellular organisms Individual development in multicellular, especially higher animals and plants, is very different from that of single cells because development itself is a rather complex process. The science that specializes in this process is called embryology. In fact, from the point of view of genetics, individual development does not end with the development of the embryo to the adult, because many elderly people with personality can develop. Therefore, in order to combine embryology and genetics better in this respect, it is necessary to include the biological phenomena of death, illness and reproduction as the basic content of individual development. This is easy in creatures with shorter life histories, but more difficult in higher animals; this also shows why there is a particular lack of information on this in higher animals.
