The Italian Consulate in Shanghai is located on the 19th floor of Century Business Plaza in Changle Road, Shanghai. We arrived at the Consul General’s office 20 minutes in advance of the agreed time. Our first impression was that the consul was very busy and received two batches of different guests in ten minutes. The Italian Consul General in Shanghai, Mr. Massimo Roscigno, very warmly invited us to talk to his office. He first said that he took office early this year and was still busy with many activities during the “Year of China, Italy.” In the past month or so, he has been to Nanjing and Hangzhou twice to attend the event. He said Shanghai is a fast-paced city and he is very happy to be so busy. Consul General Rosino introduced us to the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, which is divided into three sections: Consular Affairs, Cultural Affairs and Commercial Affairs. The consular office in Shanghai has 23 people, half of whom are Italians. He said politely that where he now lives is not big enough and is looking for a more suitable place to stay and inviting us to his official residence to drink authentic Italian coffee when everything is settled down.
