The new budget in the United States failed to reach an agreement by the deadline of midnight on October 1, causing the government to “close its doors.” The debt ceiling problem will follow. On October 17, the deadline for the United States to raise its debt ceiling will be raised. If no agreement is reached by then, the risk of default will soar sharply. All sectors of society are very concerned about the U.S. debt problem. Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso on October 8 said he hoped the United States will resolve the impasse surrounding the debt ceiling as soon as possible. He said the United States did not explain the issue of the debt ceiling. If the fiscal stalemate in the United States can not be resolved, the value of Japanese-held U.S. bonds may fall.
