Objective: To investigate the CT manifestations and mechanism of brain injury caused by lead poisoning in infants and children. Methods: Seven cases of acute and chronic lead poisoning were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Acute lead poisoning brain CT changes mainly diffuse cerebral edema, to the cerebral cortex, medullary changes significantly, after treatment may occur in varying degrees of brain atrophy, some accompanied by softening and calcification. Chronic lead poisoning is mainly parenchymal calcification, basal ganglia and cerebral cortex, medulla junction more common. Conclusion: Brain CT has important value in judging the severity of brain damage and estimating prognosis of lead poisoning.
