Objective: To evaluate the effect of long-term wearing contact lenses on corneal endothelial cells. Methods: Patients wearing contact lenses for more than 5 years were divided into four groups according to different types of wearing glasses. Each group was divided into subgroups (20 to 60, every 10 years) by age, Age group without the history of wearing glasses compared. Corneal endothelial cell density (CD), corneal endothelial area coefficient of variation (CV), and hexagonal cell frequency (6 A (%)) were measured and calculated using a Konan SP-80 0 corneal endothelial cell microscope. Results: PMMA lenses, low water content soft lenses and low Dk RGP lenses all had side effects on corneal endothelial cells. Especially for young wearers, the effect of low Dk RGP was less than that of the former two. High Dk values of RGP lenses did not have a significant effect on corneal endothelial cells. Conclusion: To ensure the health of corneal endothelial cells, contact lens wearers should choose lenses with high oxygen permeability
