钻石-600A型钻机是由冶金部地质研究所和有关单位协作研制的一种全液压钻机.它先后在广西冶勘公司215队和中南冶勘公司609队等不同地区不同岩层中进行了地表生产试验,共钻进6个孔,总进尺2000多米,最大孔深630米.1982年根据上级指示精神,于10月底在西南冶勘公司308队松树脚锡矿1720坑,开始坑内生产试验,目的是给冶金矿山和勘探队的坑内钻进提供一种性能更为全面、适应能力更强的坑内中深孔钻机,特别是解决坑内大仰角(0～90°),较大口径(φ91毫米以下),较大孔深(400米以内)的钻探设备问题. 国外坑内钻探越来越得到广泛的应用,国内坑内钻探工程量也在不断增加,尤以有色金属矿山勘探更为突出,个旧松树脚锡矿就是一例.该矿有两条主要坑道,2095坑为开采主巷,与之高差375米的1720坑为勘探兼作运输巷道.在勘探过程中,发现沿1720坑有高品位远景矿群.利用坑内钻探节省了大量进尺,避开了地表风化
