文坛总是处在喧哗与骚动之中,近些年来,各种论战与争议层出不穷。仅以去年计,就有王朔的《无知者无畏》及《美人赠我蒙汗药》的出版(两书涵括了作者本人对当代文化偏激的审视与批判),余杰与余秋雨的争斗,“美女作家”间和互诬,鲁迅的被贬,“读书奖”事件等等。这些事件的当事者因为种种原因——我想主要是因为商业因素——态度显得有些偏激。但我并不赞同将文坛(或文化界)的争论以一“骂”蔽之。在自觉不自觉中,我们都有这样的理解,一看到此种文章,我们就想:王朔在骂金庸啦;冯骥才在骂鲁迅啦;葛红兵在骂二十世纪的所有老作家啦……我所敬仰的学者李洁非先生为此还多次撰文,批评“骂”的流行。“骂”的“流行”确实在一定程度上造成了文坛的无秩序状态,但在另一方面,也增进了文坛的活力。我不同意将普泛意义上的论争定名为。骂”这样一个略带贬义的语称,这自然有我的理由。姑且陈述如下:

The “pop” of “curse” did indeed create a disorderly state of the literary world to a certain extent, but on the other hand, it also enhanced the vitality of the literary world.
