The “Transmutation” of the novel narratives filled Katie’s story with a gloomy and chaotic tone. The evolution of Katie’s images from “The Fragrant Girl” to “The Shadow Person” further made Katie a narrative The symbolic nature of Katie’s tragedy is to refute the tragedy of the more extensive women in the South and to reveal the living conditions of the modern people suffering and struggling in the noisy and uprooted modern society in order to awaken the modern Introspection and consciousness.
