元杂剧在中国文学史上占有重要的位置,至明代,杂剧已不如元代兴盛,但仍佳作不断。在明后期的杂剧作家中,王衡是极为重要的一家。他创作了《郁轮袍》、《没奈何》、《真傀儡》、《再生缘》、《裴湛和合》等五部。除《裴湛和合》未传下来,其余四部杂剧都搬上了舞台,并流传了下来。王衡,字辰玉,号缑山,别署蘅芜室主人。出生于明嘉靖四十年(1561),卒于明万历三十
