紫金城,是环绕天柱峰顶端修建的城墙,这是明成祖朱棣按照自己居住的“紫禁城”,于永乐十七年(1419) 为真武大帝在人间修建的“玉京”。明成祖对紫金城的修建严格遵守道教崇尚自然、天人合一的教理。工匠们按照明成祖的意图,用重达千斤的石条依岩势筑起一道厚厚的城墙,城高数丈不等,城墙中心周长344.43米,蜿蜒起伏。这道城墙的建筑很有特色,从外向里看,墙往内倾斜,从里向外看,墙往外倾斜,远看如光环围绕金殿。
Zijin City is a city wall built around the top of Tianzhu Peak. It is the “Forbidden City” in which Ming Chengzu Zhu Di resided in his own home and the “Yu Jing” built for the Emperor Zhenwu in the 17th year of Yongle (1419). Ming Chengzu’s construction of the city of Zijin strict adherence to Taoism advocating nature, harmony between man and nature. According to the intention of the Ming dynasty, the craftsmen built a thick wall of stone with heavy weight up to 344.43 meters per day, winding and undulating. The building of this city wall is very distinctive. From the outside to the inside, the wall slopes inwardly, looking outwards and outwards. The wall leans outward and looks like a halo around the Golden Temple.
