The distinction of a plane wave perpendicularly incident on a lossy dielectric interface depends on the density and absorption wave pairs on either side of the interface. For a model of known energy loss, the speed and absorption coefficients (absorption wave pairs) are specified, which vary with frequency. Differences between wave pairs of dielectric absorption can be attributed to different parameters in the same model or to two different models.
