关于沈从文的启蒙者身份问题是个伪命题,但仍有一些学者撰文认同,尤以刘忠先生的文章《鲁迅与沈从文:殊途而同归的启蒙文学书写者》影响最大。鲁迅是无可置疑的启蒙主义者,而沈从文的思想却并未受到启蒙主义的强烈影响,他的创作主张更倾向于唯美主义。刘忠的解读思路,很可能是由于误读了勃兰兑斯的《十九世纪文学主流》,把自然景物描写视作卢梭启蒙思想的表现了,因而才会把沈从文也称为启蒙者,但其实卢梭启蒙思想的主要表现在作品中的反封建情节设置,而不是自然风景描写,沈从文作品中只有优美风景,根本没有反封建的情节设置,所以他与卢梭也相差甚远,倒是与陶渊明的生活理想更接近。
However, there are still some scholars who agree with the author’s writings, especially Mr. Liu Zhong’s article, “Lu Xun and Shen Congwen: Enlightenment Literary Writer Reaching the Same Goal by Different Ways”. Lu Xun was an undoubted enlightenment, and Shen Congwen’s thought was not strongly influenced by the Enlightenment. His creative ideas tended to be aesthetic. Liu Zhong’s interpretation of ideas may well have been due to the misunderstanding of Brandenheis’s 19th-century literary mainstream and the portrayal of natural scenery as the manifestation of Rousseau’s enlightenment, and thus Shen Congwen, also known as Enlightenment, However, Rousseau’s enlightenment thought is mainly manifested in the anti-feudal plot set in his works rather than in the description of natural landscapes. There are only beautiful scenery in Shen Congwen’s works and there is no anti-feudal plot at all. Therefore, he has a long way to go with Rousseau, The ideal of living closer.
