Objective: To investigate the antitumor effect of vitamin C6 sodium cantharidate and its effect on serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-12 (IL-12). Methods: Forty patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) were randomly divided into test group and control group. Twenty-one patients in trial group were treated with paclitaxel plus cisplatin (TP regimen) and sodium cantharidin vitamin B6, and control group Cases, only the TP program for treatment. Peripheral venous blood was drawn on the day of admission and 7 days after treatment. Serum levels of TNF-α and IL-12 were measured by ELISA. At the same time according to the WHO anti-cancer drugs acute and subacute toxicity response grading standards for patients with chemotherapy side effects were graded. Results: There was no significant difference in the levels of TNF-α and IL-12 between the two groups after admission. The levels of serum TNF-α and IL-12 in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group after chemotherapy (P <0.05 ). The levels of TNF-α and IL-12 in the experimental group decreased compared with those before chemotherapy, but the difference was not statistically significant. Compared with the control group, the decline of leukocyte and platelet in the experimental group was significantly reduced (P <0.05). There was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the nausea and vomiting reaction group. CONCLUSION: The antitumor effect of sodium cantharidate vitamin B6 may be related to increasing the levels of TNF-α and IL-12 in the blood. Using sodium cantharidinate and vitamin B6 in combination with chemotherapy can reduce the decline of leukocytes and platelets in patients after chemotherapy, which is worthy of clinical application.
