Recently, Kong Fanzhi, former member of the CPPCC Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics, said in an interview with reporters at the Beijing Political Consultative Conference that at present, about 40% of city-level cultural protection units in Beijing are occupied. There are about 40 to 50 mansions in Beijing, and more than 10 departments are designated as reinsurers. In addition to the opening of the Prince’s Palace, the remaining government-owned cultural relics such as the government of Duan Qirui, the Fuwang Palace, Qingwang Palace and Chun Prince’s Palace were occupied for a long time by tenants and households, making it difficult for the public to visit. He suggested that the government should concentrate its funds and power from easy to difficult and solve the withdrawal of one or two occupied cultural protection units each year. This will not only improve the living conditions of tenants but also effectively protect the safety of cultural relics.
