The Japan Medical Information Device Development Center has developed a radio monitoring device that enables the hospital to continuously monitor the elderly at home and the patients in recovery. This device consists of a sending system and a receiving system. Transmission system is compact, can be tied to the user’s belt, through the body on the sensor, which can measure ECG, body temperature and breathing and other physiological parameters. The transmitting system continuously transmits the measured data as a radio signal to the data processor placed next to the telephone which in turn automatically sends the processed data over the telephone line to the receiving system in the hospital.
