在金刚石岩心钻探中对于冲洗液量的确定,大都是以冲洗液上返流速为基本参数,用该数与环状截面积相乘求得单位时间所需冲洗液量值,作为钻进规程参数之一。而冲洗液的上返流速是由岩粉沉降速度乘上一个常数来确定的。如有的资料推荐冲洗液上返流速为岩粉颗粒自由沉降速度的1.1~1.3倍,用数学式可表示为:V_s=(1.1~1.3)V_0式中:V_s为冲洗液上返流速;V_0为岩粉颗粒在冲洗液中的自由沉降速度。而V_0值又由李丁格公式计算求得,但由于公式中的有关系数确定范围不够准确,该公式算得的数值与实际测定的数值相差较大,从而给下一步计算又带来了偏差。
