20世纪的中国绘画史是一个中西融合的历史。因为中西绘画客观存在着的文化上和审美上的差异,因此,融合不可能在一种趋同的道路上走向合二为一,尤其在中国。那么,不同的表述就成为融合过程中在表现上的具体问题。所以,只有在保持特点方面的融合,才有可能显现葆有特点的个人风格;只有在融合的基础上的不同表述,才有可能表现出融合的特殊意义。这之中的困境是,油画的融合容易被认为是民族化的努力,而国画的融合则容易被认为是失去国画特点的弊端,尤其是被指认为失去笔墨的表现往往成为致命的伤害。这是一个从20世纪绘画史的发展过程中非常容易看到的带有规律性的认识上的问题,也是影响到国画发展的一直引起争论的问题。……
The 20th century Chinese painting history is a fusion of Chinese and Western history. Because of the culturally and aesthetically objective differences between Chinese and Western paintings, it is impossible for convergence to converge on a convergence path, especially in China.
