The formation of arches This special geological landscape formed about 300 million years ago. According to scientific research, the entire Arch Park is located in a few hundred meters thick underground salt bed. The area began to swell and the seawater gradually evaporated. The sediments that covered the basement were squeezed into thick sedimentary formations during the uplift of the crust, thicker than 1,000 meters in some areas. Sediments and salt strands distort, or dislocate, or liquefy in the earth’s crust. Surface water accumulates through rock formations below, creating numerous potholes. Under the billions of years of wind and rain, nature has carved it into countless arches. However, it is a pity that naturally there will be extinction, and the arches will be alive as well. As time goes by, the old arches will continue to be destroyed. Today we see the arch, maybe at some time
