低植酸(LPA)玉米能提高家禽和猪等动物对磷的吸收利用。降低对水的污染,因此,选育低植酸玉米备受各国关注。美国农业研究局科学家从普通玉米的突变植株中进行选培,终于选育出低植酸玉米杂交种,用其制成饲料后,可减少磷的损失25%-40%。为广泛应用低植酸玉米,美国农业研究局与商用种子公司签订生产协议,在一二年内就可生产出商用品种。美国农业研究局已着手研究选育低植酸的水稻、大麦和小麦品种。
Low phytic acid (LPA) corn can improve phosphorus uptake and utilization by poultry and pigs. Reduce the pollution of water, therefore, breeding low-phytate corn has drawn the attention of all countries. American Bureau of Agricultural Research scientists from the common corn mutant plants selection and breeding, and finally bred low-phytate corn hybrids, with its made of feed, can reduce the phosphorus loss of 25% -40%. For the widespread use of low phytate corn, the Bureau of Agricultural Research signs a production agreement with commercial seed companies to produce commercial varieties in a year or two. The Bureau of Agricultural Research has started to study the breeding of low-phytic acid rice, barley and wheat varieties.
