促性腺激素是脑垂体前叶嗜碱性细胞分泌的,有促卵泡激素(Follicullar StimulatingHormone,缩写FSH)和黄体生成素(Luteini-zing Hormone,缩写LH)两种。绝经期妇女尿中含有大量促性腺激素,称尿促性腺激素(Urogonaciotropin),又称人绝经期促性腺激素(Human Menopausal Gonadotrophin,缩写HMG),具有FSH和LH活性。它是一种值得重视,有广泛应用价值的生化药物。一、结构和性质FSH和LH均是糖蛋白激素,分子量分别是35,000和28,800道尔顿,由α和β两种亚基组成。其α亚基完全一样,由89个氨基酸残基组成,含10个半胱氨酸残基,连接成5个二硫键。α亚基具有激素特异性,重组分子的生物活性取决于β亚基。β亚基由115个氨基酸残基组成,含12个半胱氨酸残基,组成6个二硫键。
Gonadotropin is secreted by the basophilic cells in the anterior pituitary gland. Follicullar Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH) are two kinds of gonadotropin. Menopausal women urine contains a lot of gonadotropin, called urinary gonadotropin (Urogonaciotropin), also known as human menopausal Gonadotrophin (Human Menopausal Gonadotrophin, abbreviation HMG), with FSH and LH activity. It is a biochemical drug that deserves attention and has wide application value. First, the structure and nature FSH and LH are glycoprotein hormones, molecular weight is 35,000 and 28,800 daltons, by the two subunits α and β. Its alpha subunit is identical and consists of 89 amino acid residues with 10 cysteine residues linked by 5 disulfide bonds. The alpha subunit is hormone-specific and the biological activity of the recombinant molecule depends on the beta subunit. The β subunit consists of 115 amino acid residues and contains 12 cysteine residues, forming 6 disulfide bonds.
