自二十世纪六十年代起 ,女权主义运动对加拿大戏剧发展的影响日益增大 ,女剧作家开始打破男剧作家“垄断”剧坛的局面。她们的剧作突出地塑造了各类女性人物形象 ,展示了女性所面临的“求存”、婚姻破裂、男权主义思想等问题以及这些问题给女性带来的伤害 ;一些作品越来越关注政治问题 ,关注加拿大的独立、反抗政治压迫和经济剥削等问题。加拿大女剧作家队伍开始形成 ,成为一支生力军 ,对加拿大戏剧的发展和繁荣做出了卓著的贡献。
Since 1960s, the influence of feminist movement on the development of Canadian drama has been increasing. The female playwrights began to break the drama of “monopoly” of male playwrights. Their dramas have prominently shaped all kinds of female figures, demonstrating the problems facing women such as “survival”, the breakdown of marriages and the ideological masculinity, as well as the harm they have inflicted on women. Some works have drawn increasing attention Political issues, concerned about Canada’s independence, resistance to political oppression and economic exploitation and other issues.
