Methods From January 2002 to January 2010, prenatal ultrasound screening and birth defects in children (both primary hospital screening by conventional ultrasound is difficult to show or can not diagnose congenital abnormalities) of the mother, according to the implementation of informed consent before and after the points In two groups, there were 21 patients (group A) before implementation and 19 patients (group B) after implementation. The postpartum outcomes were compared between the two groups of birth-defect mothers. Results B group of maternal understanding of prenatal ultrasound screening in 13 cases, 4 cases can be understood, it is difficult to understand in 2 cases; A group of 3 cases, 5 cases can understand, difficult to understand 13 cases, two sets of procedures to understand the difference was statistically significant ( Z = -3.741, P = 0.000). Conclusion The informed consent form is necessary for pregnant women to understand the doctor and be responsible for pregnant women during the prenatal ultrasound examination.
