RDX Scientific name Cyclotrine is a high-explosive that is more powerful than TNT. To study the toxicity of its production wastewater and to control and monitor its contamination of the water body, a rapid, simple and sensitive analytical method needs to be established. When this work began in 1969, no reports of RDX analysis methods in water had been reported. Based on the previous work on the polarographic determination of solid RDX, we established an oscillopolarographic method that directly incorporates sodium nitrate (at a concentration of about 0.1 M) as a supporting electrolyte and deoxygenated with sodium sulfite, based on the characteristics of the water analysis law.
