The differences between Eastern and Western civilizations have existed since ancient times, and the exchange and collision between Eastern and Western cultures have always existed. The era of globalization has created a new context for comparative literature research. In the exchange and dialogue among heterogeneous civilizations, under the influence of many countries, civilizations and many other factors, the inevitability of variation arises in the process of communication and dissemination of literature. Misreading is one of the direct causes of variation in literature. It is a literary phenomenon that inevitably exists in heterogeneous cultural exchange activities. The research on the misunderstanding of literature has very important research value and realistic meaning in literary exchange, especially in literary exchange and dialogue across heterogeneous civilizations. Therefore, from the perspective of comparative literature variability, this paper attempts to take the bilingual version of Cold Night in Bajin’s novel as an example. Under the context of heterogeneous civilization, from the perspective of subjectivity, time and space, As well as the difference of language to explore the phenomenon of cultural misreading among them, then explain the research on intentional misunderstanding to eliminate and collide the heterogeneous culture, promote the exchange and development among different cultures, promote the interaction between different literatures, It is of great positive significance to promote the mutual influence of different civilizations and promote mutual exchange and communication among different cultures, opening up an innovative approach to the exchange of literature in heterogeneous contexts.
