In traditional Shakespearean theater commentary, Kricasea is often viewed as a “down-hearted woman” or “a corrupt character.” By the twentieth century, critics began to sympathize with Kristida, thinking that her change of heart was caused by a degraded environment. However, it is not enough to view the relationship between Crecy and the environment statically: not because the world is depraved, but everyone who lives in it must become degraded and absurd. In fact, Kristeda has been wary of watching the environment she lives in, she does not want to become corrupt, absurd. She had struggled, trying to have a sincere love. However, Troy Rose ’s attitude toward love is influenced by the idea that women in the play regard the woman as plaything, not what she originally hoped for, “eternal and firm.” Therefore, the disillusionment of love is an important reason for her emotional betrayal.
