It is generally believed that the ancients first began to brew alcohol in the Neolithic Age about 9,000 years ago. At that time, the ancients living in northern China were delighted to find that the fruits and honey were fermented to produce an enchanting liquid. However, the new study found that human ancestors had become accustomed to alcohol as early as 10 million years ago, probably from ripe, fermented berries on the forest floor. Scientists now believe that as our ape-ancestors walked down the tree to the ground and walked on their feet, they began to pick up berries that were fermented on the ground
